Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026
Your Home Docket is a private beta. We want to be clear about what we collect, where it lives, and how it is used. No legalese — just plain language.
1. What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the service:
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign up.
- Home data you enter — homes, appliances and assets, service records, maintenance reminders, trusted contacts, and household member lists.
- Files you upload — receipt photos and warranty documents you attach to records.
- Feedback you submit — messages sent through the in-app Feedback button.
- Product analytics — anonymised usage events via PostHog (which pages you visit, which features you use). No keystroke recording.
- Error and crash reports — stack traces sent to Sentry when something breaks, so we can fix it.
2. Where your data lives
- All home data is stored in Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services in the Mumbai (ap-south-1) region.
- The web application is served from Vercel's global edge network.
- Transactional emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset) are sent via Resend.
3. Who can see your data
- Only members of a homecan see that home's data. Membership is controlled by the home admin.
- We do not sell your data — ever, to anyone.
- Our team can see aggregate product metrics (feature usage, error rates) and feedback messages you send us. We cannot see your home data unless you explicitly share it with us for support purposes.
4. Third-party sub-processors
We use a small number of sub-processors to run the service. Each processes data only as needed for its stated purpose:
- Supabase (database and file storage)
- Vercel (hosting and serverless functions)
- Resend (transactional email delivery)
- PostHog (product analytics — anonymised)
- Sentry (error tracking)
5. Cookies and local storage
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. PostHog may set an analytics cookie. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
6. Data retention
Your data lives in your account for as long as your account exists. When you delete an asset, record, or home inside the app, it is permanently removed. If you want your entire account deleted, get in touch via the Feedback button — self-serve account deletion is on our roadmap.
7. Your rights
You can update your name and email from the Account settings page. You can delete your own records, assets, and homes in-app. For anything else — a copy of your data, corrections, or full account deletion — use the Feedback button and we will respond promptly.
8. Beta caveat
Your Home Docket is in private beta. Features and the details of how we handle data may change as the product evolves. We will communicate any material changes by email before they take effect. Your continued use after notification means you accept the updated policy.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to production infrastructure is limited to our core team. That said, no system is perfectly secure — please choose a strong, unique password.
10. Children
Your Home Docket is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Contact
If you are already signed in, the easiest way to reach us is the Feedback button at the bottom of every page. We will get back to you within a few business days.
